I brought my daughter in for high fevers and an infection. It was noted by the PA that my daughter required admission to the hospital and IV antibiotics. Initially, the admitting providers declined to admit my daughter. Using her knowledge and critical thinking skills, Savannah recognized early deterioration symptoms my daughter was experiencing. Savannah escalated my daughter's symptoms to the PA and advocated that it was not safe to send my daughter home. Savannah and Matthew worked together to advocate for my daughter. And thankfully, they did. Before we knew it, my daughter's condition took a drastic turn. She became hypotensive, which was not responsive to fluid boluses. She was admitted to the PICU and required a vasopressor for 10 hours. I would have lost my daughter if I had not had such an amazing team advocating for her. I wish there were more I could nominate Savannah for than the DAISY Award. She helped save my daughter's life! Thank you for advocating for my daughter, Savannah.
