Sarah was very friendly to him and made him feel like his breathing issue was not a scary situation at all.
I brought my 3-year-old son to the ED on New Year's Eve for care, and Sarah instantly met us at the nursing station and started to get familiar with kiddo "at his level". He was very hesitant at first, but then she offered to have him push the button on the machine to make it stop beeping or help put the pulse ox on his finger. Sarah also let him use her stethoscope to listen to his heart, and then he wanted to listen to her heart, and of course she said yes. Sarah was very friendly to him and made him feel like his breathing issue was not a scary situation at all. When it was time for the nebulizer treatment, he was hesitant, but she was calm and collected with her plan of attack that made him take the treatment like a champ. The doctor came in and observed and indicated he thought it was a viral thing and needed to run its course, so we didn't need to swab for bugs. Sarah joked with my son and said, "Should we check you for bugs?" and he said, "No way I don't have bugs"! Sarah made my son feel very relaxed in a "not so fun" environment, and they had each other giggling before we left and as we walked out the door. I'll always recommend Sarah!
