Even though I knew I had a large baby, I had high hopes for a natural birth, wanting to avoid as many interventions as possible due to a medical condition. But when my water broke well before I started labor, I was on the clock to get the baby out. I was anxious and overwhelmed, but then I met Sarah. Sarah truly went above and beyond in every way. Right from the start, she took the time to sit with me, listen to my concerns, and acknowledge my fears. She didn’t rush through the conversation or offer dismissive reassurances. Instead, she actively listened to my worries about potential complications and the possibility of needing a C-section.

What impressed me most was how she worked with me, offering both holistic approaches and medically sound solutions. In addition to this, she acted as a vital intermediary between the doctor and me, helping me understand the doctor’s recommendations, as well as my options. This allowed me to make informed choices that were aligned with my desires for birth while still maintaining the health and safety of both my baby and me.

Thanks to this nurse’s unwavering support, my birth experience took a positive turn. She helped me avoid a C-section, a path that seemed inevitable at one point. Instead, I was able to labor and deliver in a way that felt empowering, all because of her advocacy and the safe space she created for me. I cannot express enough how deeply grateful I am for her care. She demonstrated what true nursing is all about: compassion, expertise, and a genuine desire to make a difference in her patients’ lives. This nurse helped me feel heard, understood, and supported at one of the most vulnerable times of my life.
