The impact Sarah has made on our unit as a leader can not adequately be expressed.
Sarah is an outstanding manager. She came into leading our Mom/Baby team with no CN or Leadership experience. We needed someone to step up and lead our team, and she took it on because she feels so passionate about our unit. She wanted to make sure we had a manager who understood the dynamic of our floor. She has excelled as our manager. Sarah is a natural leader. Our team respects her ability to find solutions to issues, make personal connections, and insist on a positive environment. She squashes gossip, addresses concerns, and is willing to have all the hard conversations.

Right from day one, she has dealt with many obstacles. She had to terminate an employee during her first month, with non-stop construction issues, and even a fire in our unit! She was right in the thick of the fire, helping moms get to a safe place, and making sure that her team was also safe. Sarah has been an advocate for every member on our unit, has an open door policy (coming in at 4 am every Monday so she can spend time with night shift), puts in 60 hours every week to ensure our unit is flowing as best as possible, and is quick to jump in to help our unit on the floor as a nurse and/or lactation specialist. She does this all even when she knows this will push her workload into having to work at home to complete her tasks.

The impact Sarah has made on our unit as a leader can not adequately be expressed. We are so grateful and thankful that she stepped way out of her comfort zone and was willing to manage and lead our team.
