One day in particular stands out and reflects the depth of Sarah's dedication.
It had already been an especially challenging week in the NICU, but one of my patients' families faced the unimaginable decision to withdraw care from their two-week-old baby. Amidst her own patient responsibilities, Sarah immediately made herself available when I asked for help, honoring this family's request for photographs. With grace and sensitivity, she included the items most meaningful to the family: a crocheted blanket lovingly made by the baby's mother and a tiny bear made the night before by the baby's aunt. Sarah carefully and tenderly incorporated these keepsakes as she captured the most beautiful, dignified images of this precious angel. The family expressed deep gratitude for the memories Sarah created during their most heartbreaking moment.
