She greatly understands the importance of consistent and supportive care for the psychiatric population she serves.
Sara is the glue that holds this incredible team together! She always arrives at work with a great attitude. She finds opportunities to educate her peers humbly and encourages others to perform to the best of their ability. She is a policy hero and continuously monitors unit safety. She maintains strong, trustworthy relationships with her peers by checking in and always following up. Sara also demonstrates flexibility because she will work different roles within the unit and excel at those, too! Sara does not hesitate to support her patients by coaching them through difficult moments and having decompression conversations. She greatly understands the importance of consistent and supportive care for the psychiatric population she serves.

While on shift, a patient hit another patient. Sara immediately jumped into action to support the patient who was hit. This patient sadly had a history of trauma and was triggered by the situation. Sara quickly moved the patient into a safe space. Once there, Sara helped the patient calm down by doing deep breathing together and assured her that she was safe. Afterward, Sara conversed with the patient to help transition her back into group programming.

Sara is an excellent asset to the Seattle Children's team and also to her community by teaching children tools to work on their mental health during our mental health crisis.
