I am honored to nominate my nurse for the DAISY Award for her exceptional care provided in the Emergency Room. From the moment I arrived, her kind and compassionate demeanor put me at ease. She was not only informative about my situation, but also respectful of my feelings and treated me with dignity throughout my entire visit. As a resident of a small town, I was initially worried about receiving care in a hospital where everyone knows each other. However, my nurse made me feel heard and assured me that my care was of the utmost importance. She did not make me feel judged in any way and I am grateful for the level of professionalism she displayed. She offered and attempted to contact my husband for me, helped pull my hair back from my face, offered ice chips, and continued to check in on me throughout my stay. I truly believe that she is a shining example of what it means to be a dedicated and empathetic healthcare professional.
