Sara Alshehhi, BSN, RN
As the mother of a child who has been hospitalized since birth, I have met many wonderful nurses. My son, A, cannot speak and communicates only through subtle expressions and reactions. Caring for him requires more than clinical skill. It requires someone who truly knows and understands him.
Sara is that nurse.
She cares for A with a level of love, attentiveness, and devotion that feels as though he were her own child. She notices the smallest details, recognizes changes others might miss, and understands the needs he cannot express. Whether adjusting his environment to keep him comfortable or simply taking pride in his appearance, every action reflects how deeply she cares.
The greatest comfort a parent can have is knowing their child is safe, understood, and genuinely loved. Whenever Sara is on duty, I feel at peace because I know A is in the hands of someone who not only cares for him, but truly knows him and advocates for him when he cannot speak for himself.
Although A cannot express his gratitude in words, the special bond they share shows in how he responds to her. Sara has earned both his trust and mine.
