Because of Sunny's compassion, patience, and ability to truly connect, my son left the hospital feeling comfortable, confident, and less afraid of future care.
I am honored to recognize RN "Sunny" for the exceptional compassion, kindness, and professionalism he demonstrated during my son's ER visit for a wrist injury at the Doctor's Hospital of Laredo, ER department located at Wright Ranch.
My son becomes extremely anxious in medical environments and often tries to avoid going to the hospital altogether. From the very first moment Sunny entered the room, his warm and reassuring presence immediately made a difference.
He took the time to personally connect with my son by talking with him about sports and sharing stories about injuries he himself had experienced. This thoughtful interaction helped my son relax in a way I had never seen before in a medical setting. I could visibly see the tension leave him as they began laughing and having a genuine conversation about something my son truly enjoys.
Sunny also explained each step of the process in a calm and supportive manner, helping my son feel prepared and less fearful about what was coming next.
X-rays were completed smoothly, and the physician, who was also very kind, confirmed the diagnosis. Thankfully, we were able to return home with reassurance and peace of mind.
What meant the most to me as a mother was what my son said after we left: "Mom, I wish all nurses could be just like Sunny. If I need to see a doctor, please bring me here where Sunny is at."
Those words spoke volumes!
Sunny did more than provide excellent medical care; he changed how my son feels about receiving medical attention. Because of Sunny's compassion, patience, and ability to truly connect, my son left the hospital feeling comfortable, confident, and less afraid of future care.
Sunny's kindness turned what could have been a stressful and frightening experience into a positive and empowering one. He made my son feel understood, respected, and safe. That type of impact extends far beyond one visit and will stay with us for a long time.
Sunny is an extraordinary nurse who clearly makes a meaningful difference in the lives of his patients and their families. I sincerely hope he knows how much his compassion matters.
