Sam is an excellent nurse. I previously had to be in the emergency again in the same week, and I was dreading having to go back to the emergency department because the previous visit I had that week was awful and I never wanted to enter again, but I was told to by my doctor and the surgeon; I had no option but to go back. I was crying because I was all worried about how I was going to be treated again. But Sam came into my room not knowing I work here or that I am a nurse as well because I don't disclose that information. He was so nice the whole time and told me every step of the way what was going on, and he was professional and made me feel comfortable, and he showed care, compassion, and respect. He would check on me often, which I couldn't believe because all the other visits, no one checked on me more than once until I was sent home or transferred. He was an amazing nurse, and I think everyone could benefit from learning from him on how a patient should be treated, even when it is short-term term because that care and compassion are recognized. In all my emergency visit times, which have been a few since I have a chronic condition, I have never had a nurse walk me out to my ride and make sure I was okay to be walking alone out of the unit. That right there, along with how he treated me, put a positive experience in a time when I didn't want to ever go back. Thank You, Sam! You’re an amazing nurse, and if I ever have to go back or my family or friends for any reason, you would be one nurse I would request to take care of us! The Emergency department is very lucky to have you!
