She leads by example, showing what compassionate, patient-centered nursing really looks like.
Samantha is the kind of nurse and preceptor who truly defines what it means to go. Not just for her students, but for every patient she cares for. From day one, she created an environment where I felt supported and challenged, excited to learn, and comfortable.
She didn't just teach me to complete tasks; she taught me how to think like a nurse. What makes Samantha exceptional is her ability to balance honesty with encouragement. She always gave constructive feedback, explaining the "why" behind everything, and turned every mistake or misunderstanding into a meaningful teaching opportunity.
Even when I succeeded, she pushed me to grow further, building both my skills and confidence. What truly sets her apart is the way she cares for the patients. She is never afraid to get down and dirty, whether it is giving a patient a bath or helping a patient in the bathroom, not because she has to, but because she genuinely wants to help.
She leads by example, showing what compassionate, patient-centered nursing really looks like. Samantha didn't just teach me a few skills; she invested in me. Because of her, I feel more prepared and confident as I enter practice. She has truly left a lasting impact on me, and I can only hope to one day be the kind of nurse she is. This was my last day with Samantha.
Thank you for having such a great unit. I learned so much.
