Sam was Dad's nurse, and she treated our dad and family with ultimate respect.
Sam was Dad's nurse, and she treated our dad and family with ultimate respect. She was very busy but always had time for our questions and concerns. The thing that stood out the most about Sam was that we were taking Dad to my home for Hospice. I live in a two-story home without a 1st floor shower, and he definitely needed bathing! Sam had an admission coming from the ER, but took the time to shower him and make him feel like a million bucks, nice and clean and human. There is no way I could have gotten him up our stairs for a decent clean up, and Sam made him so comfortable! She also wanted to be present when we spoke about end-of-life issues with his physicians and care teams.

Dad played his harmonica for everyone who entered his hospital room because he loved to make people happy. Dad passed away 4 days later with our family present. He and his antics will be missed! I have been a member of our Good Sam community since 1996 as a cardiac rehab nurse. Being on the caregiver side with Dad, I truly appreciate everyone that he came in contact with, nurses, doctors, APNs, social work, housekeeping, dietary, care managers, transport, etc.

Thank you, Sam, from the bottom of my heart.
