Samantha went absolutely above and beyond in my care during my stay in Labor and Delivery. When I arrived at the hospital in labor, I was five weeks early, and my husband was in New York City. I was terrified and completely alone, as my family lives out of state. From the moment I walked through the door, Samantha was a calming and reassuring presence.

Being so early, I was deeply worried about my baby’s health and uncertain about what labor would bring as my husband frantically drove seven hours from New York. Despite having many other patients and training staff at the time, Samantha made sure to be by my side, checking on me frequently and guiding me through every step. She offered constant support and reassurance.

Samantha even stayed past the end of her shift to ensure I felt comfortable with the new team, met everyone, and received updates on when my husband would arrive. She was just as excited to find out the baby’s gender—a healthy baby boy—as we were. The next day, even though I was no longer her patient, she stopped by at the start of her shift to check in on me.

It’s nursing leaders like Samantha who set the example for exemplary care and truly make Johnson-Willis stand out. From start to finish, I had the best experience possible, and I credit that entirely to Samantha.
