Nancy and Samantha were attempting to provide emergent treatment for a large, muscular male patient who presented extreme physical aggression to the degree that he was able to repeatedly lift her completely off the floor with one hand. Due to an unforeseen medical situation, the patient was aggressively combative as he began swinging and kicking at clinical staff.

Nancy and Samantha never wavered in their efforts to provide their patient with compassionate care, even when their safety was at risk. Once clinical staff rendered the patient's extreme physical aggression copacetic, they both provided the patient with the exceptional care that the ASMCA Emergency Department is noted for. Neither of them displayed the patient's side, even at great risk of injury to themselves.

They preserved the patient's dignity by cleaning him up and making him presentable for his distressed family. The patient's appearance helped the family achieve a better state of calm. Nancy and Samantha consistently demonstrated a propensity to embrace Ascension's Mission and Core Values.
