My sister was brought in a few days ago with multiple organ failure. Today, with Sam's help, we made the difficult decision to end care for my sister. Due to COVID-19, none of our family was able to come from California. Sam made it possible to help us with phone calls so that my siblings and her children could say goodbye to our loved one. He then walked us through the process of removing the ventilator and comfort care. He is truly an exceptional nurse. I cannot thank him enough for all he did to lessen our suffering.

My father was in the ICU for COVID. There have been many amazing nurses, but by far, Sam went out of his way to make my dad feel comfortable and well cared for. He even went out of his way to Facetime us since we couldn't be there. He was the most compassionate nurse I have ever been in contact with. He took his time and was very gentle and caring with our dad. Even when explaining things to us on Facetime, he was understanding of our situation and concerns. He deserves the DAISY Award!
