I was in pain and had been told there was no infection. Sahdia listened to me and used her clinical and observational skills to act as my advocate, despite the previous swab and blood results not indicating an infection. Sahdia demonstrated outstanding compassion and care, along with professional curiosity, to ensure I felt heard and safe.

It is so important when you are unwell with pain and feeling vulnerable to know this. Sahdia is continuing to support me by being accessible during my ongoing postoperative complications. I honestly feel I would have ended up septic in my local without her support. I understand this is part of the post-operative nurse's role, but the care demonstrated has been excellent and remains so.
