My story started a year ago, and has come full circle. One of the first nurses I met over a year ago was Safet. At first, we did not see eye to eye on anything. An admission to 170 was not easy for me and during my admission Safet was, and is, part of why this admission was so successful. I was having a hard time with another patient and Safet was there for me when I was very scared and worried about a room change and the possible interaction with the patient I was having problems with. Safet calmly explained the room change and when I expressed my concerns, Safet told me not to be scared. He said he would be there all day and I could come right to him if I had any problems. Not only did Safet calm me down, he also gave me the excellent support I needed. Safet has been amazing all around. He always has an amazing attitude. He is supportive of all the veterans who are admitted to 170. Safet takes the time every day he is here to check on me. We have had some good conversations over the last year. Safet says that "his leisure time and work time is the best when he is on 170 working and interacting with us who are admitted to 170". Safet is an extraordinary nurse in every way and is a true DAISY Nurse.
