Sadiyah has boosted the morale of her team members by constantly praising their hard work and dedication. She would write positive comments about them to highlight the instances when they showed their resilience and positivity at the workplace.
Sadiyah is one of the most outstanding nurses in Saudi German Hospital Jeddah for her extraordinary compassion, innovative mind, good critical thinking skills, and leadership skills. She has made many initiatives to improve the care of critically ill patients as well as the work environment of her fellow staff nurses.

She has been working as the ICU Unit Manager in Saudi German Hospital Jeddah since February of 2023 and she has already made a positive impact towards her patients, their families, and her colleagues in the department. Despite the numerous challenges she and her team faced while the unit was expanding its bed capacity, Sadiyah has boosted the morale of her team members by constantly praising their hard work and dedication. She would write positive comments about them to highlight the instances when they showed their resilience and positivity at the workplace. When it comes to staffing in her unit, Sadiyah also ensures that all of her nurses will have an equal number of day and night shifts every month. She has also allotted every first Wednesday of every month as the Staff Wellness Day wherein they conduct simple fun activities for all the ICU staff to have a good time. One particular activity that her colleagues enjoyed was the quick question-and-answer game in which the staff has to answer a question about any topic on patient care within 10 seconds. The questions could range from nursing policies to nursing concepts. She randomly asks her staff nurses and when their answers are correct, she buys them coffee or treats from the shop in the hospital. Indeed, she is a very supportive Unit Manager to her colleagues.

Furthermore, with her vast knowledge and experience in Critical Care Nursing, Sadiyah has contributed to the enhancement of the patient satisfaction in her unit by spearheading their Performance Improvement Project on reducing the Pressure Injury cases in 2023. The project is currently underway and is progressing accordingly as planned.

She, along with her supportive team, has also made other major initiatives to improve the nursing workflow and quality of care they give to their critically ill patients. A few of the novelties she has implemented include having a request book in which her staff nurses can write down their requests regarding their work schedules; having procedure boards in place; and organizing subgroups to improve the quality of work of the nurses in the ICU.

Sadiyah is also an active member of many of Saudi German Hospital Jeddah’s Nursing Shared Governance councils such as the Nurse Leaders Council, Magnet and Research Council, and the Clinical Practice and Quality Council. Her active involvement in these councils has given her the opportunity to make valuable contributions in the revision and update of some of the hospital’s existing Nursing Policies and Procedures, most especially in the care of critically-ill patients.

Her peers feel very happy and appreciative of her. One of her colleagues in the unit would like to convey, “Thanks to her for all the care and support she has given to the nurses and patients.”

Sadiyah, therefore, is truly deserving of this meaningful recognition.
