He actively participates and presents at local, regional, and national oncology nursing conferences and was even invited to present at the National Comprehensive Cancer Network Oncology Policy Summit in Washington, DC, on advancing equitable cancer care for the LGBTQ+ Community.
Dr. Wilson excels in his role as a teacher and mentor. Most notably, he has focused his course improvement efforts on a variety of leadership courses for both graduate and pre-licensure students. He expertly revised his courses, ensuring student achievement of the course competencies. Ryne has demonstrated “out of the box thinking” as he revised these courses by adding innovative activities for his students, including 1:1 faculty conferences, innovative communication strategies with his preceptors, and a modified Canvas site such that students move through each page of course activities in a meaningful way. All of these innovative actions have ensured a positive student experience and high-level achievement of course competencies.

In addition to his teaching role, Dr. Wilson’s commitment to oncology nursing and quality cancer care is evident in all his interactions. He actively participates and presents at local, regional, and national oncology nursing conferences and was even invited to present at the National Comprehensive Cancer Network Oncology Policy Summit in Washington, DC, on advancing equitable cancer care for the LGBTQ+ Community. He openly shares his experiences from these events with his colleagues in print and through social media. Most recently, he was appointed as Director-At-Large for the Oncology Nursing Society, an organization representing over 100,000 oncology nurses across the United States.

Dr. Wilson is actively serving on multiple school of nursing committees, including the DNP project approval committee and the Graduate admissions and progression committee. He possesses a positive attitude and “can-do” approach in all of his interactions.
