From the moment Rylee came in, she made me feel like I had a partner and someone who was taking charge of my care.
After a very traumatic and messy birth with my first child (at a different hospital), I wasn't confident that I would ever be able to have the natural childbirth I had always wanted. While my second child born with the wonderful nurses at Parkwest in 2022 was a wonderful experience, I still had some anxiety knowing how easily things can go wrong and how much depends on your care team of providers.
From the moment Rylee came in, she made me feel like I had a partner and someone who was taking charge of my care. She fully supported my desire for a natural birth and encouraged me every step of the way. It was a fast and furious arrival, and for a quick minute, I think we all thought my son might arrive before Dr. G did! But you never would have known; Rylee wasn't anything other than ready and confident.
It wasn't until after my son was born that Rylee shared that I was her first natural birth! I would never have thought that based on how comfortable and reassuring she was throughout the morning. So much of a mother's experience of childbirth depends on how supported she feels and whether the environment feels safe and she can relax. I am confident that Rylee played a huge part in my feeling safe and supported. She kept me laughing and able to allow my body to relax and deliver my son.
Every mother should have a Rylee with them for their delivery! She is clearly in a field where she is gifted, as are the rest of the wonderful Parkwest L&D nurses. I'm so thankful for the wonderful care I received.
