Ryan truly was a beacon of light in a dark time for us. When our daughter was admitted to the PICU, we were beyond scared. As soon as they wheeled her in from the ER, Ryan and a room full of other amazing staff were waiting for us and leaped into action.

He got her set up with her equipment, fixed her IV that someone else had inserted incorrectly, and made her as comfortable as possible. He took his time to explain everything to us in great detail and supported us in every way possible. Throughout the night, he was in the room checking on her anytime her sats dipped before the machine could even go off.

When we were told she had to be moved to a vent and couldn’t breastfeed for a day or two, he sat with me and calmed me down as we processed everything going on. When I finally got to hold my baby again, he helped me navigate all of the cords and equipment and never made us feel like a burden for all of our questions. He helped me get established with pumping milk for her and truly took a huge weight off our shoulders.

Not only did he go above and beyond for our daughter, but he went out of his way to advocate for her when she needed some more oxygen and was the first to notice she was retracting again. We can never thank him enough for his kindness and support.
