Ryah not only listened but also encouraged me that I absolutely can do this and even gave me recommendations on the type of doctor to see, which is why I now see a PA.
I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in 2020, and in the 5 years that I have been trying to figure out how to live with this disease, I have never felt more heard or cared for until I reached out to Ryah. Up until I reached out to Ryah, I always left my doctor's office feeling unheard and uncared for. I honestly felt like all my doctor wanted to do was just give me more drugs, and that the only solution was for me to take another pill. Ryah was the first medical professional who actually listened to me and my concerns. I expressed how I didn't want my first reliance to be on a pill and that I wanted to change my lifestyle, but I was receiving no help. I expressed how I would leave my former doctor's office, thinking that I was useless and that I wouldn't be able to take care of myself without the help of more medication. Ryah was then able to give me some suggestions on doctors to see, and she is honestly the reason that I now see a Parkview doctor.

Ryah not only listened but also encouraged me that I absolutely can do this and even gave me recommendations on the type of doctor to see, which is why I now see a PA. I had my first visit with my new doctor a week ago, and even though not much has changed physically yet, mentally I am in a much better place. I want to take care of myself because Ryah helped me believe that I could. I am taking care of myself because she helped get me in to see a PA who encouraged me instead of talking down to me. Ryah is, and will continue to be, one of the greatest nurses that Parkview has, not just because of her knowledge or skill, but because of the way she treats and cares for those in her care and who come to her for help. I would not understand how anyone could come out from under Ryah's care not feeling heard and cared for. Parkview is very fortunate and blessed to have her on its team.
