She didn’t just do her job—she did it with love.
During one of the most difficult times in my 83-year-old mother’s life, Nurse Rupinder became a true blessing to our family. My mother had been going through a very difficult time in her life, marked by multiple illnesses, constant pain, and a daily struggle to hold on to hope. During her hospital stay, there were many hard nights—but one night stood out. And that difference had a name: Nurse Rupinder, who quickly became one of my mother’s favorites. From the very beginning, Rupinder showed an incredible level of empathy, dedication, and kindness that deeply moved us. Always with a smile, she cared for my mother with patience, respect, and a generous heart. She didn’t just do her job—she did it with love. She listened carefully, anticipated my mother’s needs, and made sure she was comfortable and at peace throughout the night. Watching someone care for a loved one with such humanity and devotion felt like finding water in the middle of a desert. For my mother, those nights were less painful because of Rupinder. And for us as a family, it was a great comfort to know that someone so compassionate was by her side while we rested. Rupinder didn’t just make a difference—she became a part of our story. That’s why, with all my heart, I want to nominate her for the DAISY Award. People like her deserve to be recognized—not only for their professional excellence, but for the emotional and human impact they have on patients and their families. Thank you, Rupinder, for being a light in the darkness.
