Staying in hospital for this long has a number of challenges, and Roslin takes the time to understand these as well as providing excellent nursing care at the same time.
I have just commenced week 10 of my hospital stay. My planned operation was minor with an anticipated stay of 4 days, but due to a number of complications, I am still here. Roslin has been a constant positive influence on both my physical and emotional well-being for a number of reasons. She has a consistent positive attitude, which is infectious and makes you feel naturally positive. She has a ‘can do’ attitude, which fills you with confidence as a patient, too. She is not afraid to try new things and is happy to accept when she doesn’t quite get things right. She has a good balance of listening and empathising but also challenging when she needs to. For example, there have been some days when I have struggled to eat or get out of bed. Roslin has been quite firm to remind me of the benefits of both and quickly got me in the shower. The benefits of this have helped me enormously.

Staying in hospital for this long has a number of challenges, and Roslin takes the time to understand these as well as providing excellent nursing care at the same time. My understanding is that Roslin is one of the lesser experienced nurses on the ward. I find this surprising when you see the quality of her nursing, her solutions to problems and the way in which she interacts with other members of the medical team. She is clearly a very quick learner, and I feel I have seen her develop over the time I have been here. She is quietly confident but not afraid to put her hands up and ask for help when she needs it. In all honesty, Roslin has made my stay in hospital so much more bearable. I look forward to seeing her each time she looks after me. She is a great credit to the London Clinic. Thank you, Roslin.
