August 2026 Honoree
Rosaly Perez, RN
Some people do their job, but others, like Rosaly Perez, change someone's life without even realizing it. During an admission to the hospital due to oncology treatment complications- one of the hardest and most frightening times of my life- when I felt overwhelmed, exhausted, and unsure of what to do next, she became the person who reminded me that I didn't have to carry everything alone. I've always been the one trying to stay strong for everyone else, but she gave me permission to stop pretending I was okay. She reminded me that it was okay to be scared, to cry, and to advocate for myself. Because of her compassion, guidance, and unwavering support, I found the strength to move my treatment forward, get my records in order, and continue fighting for my life. I'll never be able to thank her enough for the care she gave me not just as a patient, but as a person. To me, she will always be one of God's angels here on Earth, and I will carry her kindness with me long after this chapter of my life is over. As patients, we are so fortunate to have nurses like her. Kind souls who do more than care for our bodies; they care for our hearts when we need it most.
Thank you, Rosaly, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
