I was just beside myself when they said they had to insert a chest tube and that his lung was filled with fluid. Rosa was our assigned nurse that night before they moved my husband back to ACU. Rosa noticed my distress and came to my rescue. I was in tears, and she approached me, explained that she was our nurse now, and let me cry for a moment. She then detailed what was going to happen. I had no clue what to expect, but she spoke with me, put me in the waiting room, and made me feel updated. At that moment, being alone and so far from home was just a comfort. Knowing someone cared about what we were going through, I cannot express how wonderful she was. Rosa made sure he was comfortable and was attentive to everything from the moment she came on shift. I wish I could give all your nurses an award. They are amazing and go above and beyond.
