I have had the opportunity to interact with Rosa Davis in three of her positions: nurse educator, coordinator of Wings to Recovery, and facilitator of "Get Real and Heal". I first met her at my chemo education session. She was well prepared and highly organized. I was frightened. Roas's optimism and compassion quickly put me at ease. I was most thankful for the take-home notebook she had prepared for me. She went above and beyond her responsibilities when she researched a port issue that I had and called me an hour later to alleviate my misgivings. Rosa trained me to become a mentor with Wings to Recovery. She is inspirational and an excellent role model. Her skilled guidance has helped me when conversing with other cancer survivors. The "Get Real and Heal" program has helped me recover from chemo. After my treatment, I was reluctant to take walks, exercise, or participate in any strenuous activity. It was a comfort to have Rosa, a capable and caring nurse, nearby. She took our vitals faithfully pre- and post-exercise. Rosa has influenced my recovery mentally, emotionally, and physically. She is encouraging and supportive. Her radiant smile and pleasant personality are an asset to the Cancer Center.
