On one of the worst days of my life—when fear, pain, and uncertainty felt overwhelming—Robine walked into our room like a wave of sunshine.
Robine M. is, without question, the most extraordinary nurse I have ever met.
On one of the worst days of my life—when fear, pain, and uncertainty felt overwhelming—Robine walked into our room like a wave of sunshine. She instantly put my mind at ease and brought peace to a situation that had felt unbearable. Her presence alone changed everything.
From the moment she introduced herself, Robine made both my husband and me feel deeply cared for, protected, and truly seen. She advocated for me when I didn’t have the strength to speak up. She ensured the right things were happening and that every step of my care was handled with intention and compassion. She listened—not just to my symptoms, but to my fears, my concerns, and my needs. For the first time in a very long time, I felt heard. I felt valued. I felt human again.
I live with a rare congenital condition, and Robine took the time to genuinely understand it. She asked thoughtful questions, educated herself right there with me, and approached every decision with empathy and respect. She didn’t dismiss my experiences—she honored them. She included me in decisions about my treatment, giving me a voice in my own care, something I have longed for throughout so many medical encounters. That alone spoke volumes about her character and professionalism.
But what truly sets Robine apart is that nursing is not just a profession for her—it is her calling. You can feel it in the way she speaks, the way she listens, the way she advocates, and the way she treats every patient with dignity, joy, and unwavering compassion. Her positive, upbeat attitude is rare and deeply healing. Even in the most stressful moments, her bedside manner remained calm, comforting, and full of grace.
Robine is the kind of nurse who changes outcomes, changes experiences, and changes lives. She made all the difference for my family and me, and I know she brings this same light to every patient she touches. I am constantly in awe of her professionalism, her heart, and her ability to balance clinical excellence with genuine human connection.
Robine embodies every quality the DAISY Award stands for—compassion, advocacy, leadership, clinical skill, kindness, and the profound ability to impact a patient’s life in ways that cannot be measured. I am endlessly grateful that she was my nurse, and I cannot imagine a more deserving recipient of this award.
