River went above and beyond to make me feel cared for. Once I was able to talk again, River came by every so often to chat and help me feel a little less alone there. When I went back to the hospital less than 2 weeks later, I was relieved to find River was my nurse - I had never had River as my nurse during my entire time in the ICU. River made sure I was comfortable and went above and beyond to make sure my doctors were informed and able to provide stronger insight on the new condition I was managing. River walked through everything to help me understand and was so empathetic to what I was going through. River made sure I could get through my second scary hospital stay with dignity and feel as safe as possible. River completely understood my needs as a patient. Unlike some other providers, River never struggled with my pronouns even once or made anything close to a complaint about my needs as a patient. River truly cared for me as a whole person and was also extremely thoughtful to my partner and made sure as the person who would be taking me home, they were fully informed of everything they would need to know to keep me safe, too.
