My dad was admitted for CHF exacerbation. Ritika was his nurse these past 2 days. After being emotional about him having been admitted (I am his caretaker and his eldest daughter), I was up here before visiting hours so I could be here when the doctors came. When a partner of my dad’s cardiologist came, I was very upset that he knew nothing of my dad. He had no idea about the echocardiogram or bubble test that was done. He told me I could go to the nurse’s station and get a printout of it. I was in tears from having no sleep and waking early to now this doctor. I went to the nurse’s station and talked with Ritika, and at the same time, the CNA told me the hospitalist was in the room. The hospitalist took the time to open the computer and answer questions. Ritika came in after he left and was actually concerned for me and wondered how I was and if I got the answers I needed. I was so moved by her sincerity and compassion, not only for my dad, whom she treated with the utmost care, but also for me, his family, as well. What an excellent nurse!
