A patient was seen in the emergency department and was going to be admitted. She was concerned about her husband. They are Winter Texans and she is the one who cares for him. Her health is also in danger if she leaves the hospital against medical advice.
Rihanne noticed the patient was afraid and troubled with her situation. She accommodated her husband to be at the bedside until he was picked up. She provided him with a meal and comfort while they waited.
Rihanne noted the patient's birthday will be the next day. She wanted to brighten her day and make her feel special after all she had been through. On her birthday, Rihanne sent her flowers and a key chain. Isn't she thoughtful? If everyone had the kind nature of Rihanne to think of others and wish them well, the world will be a better place.
After the patient was discharged, she stopped by the ED and dropped off a thank you note that read:
"You are a blessing to me. Sorry to be late in thanking you for the beautiful birthday flowers delivered to my room. The 2 huge beautiful daisies with green, brown and a touch of yellow centers were so special and my favorite colors too! I have left these flowers on the counter by our table and they dried beautifully. The key chain is lying on the counter too so I can think of you every day and praise the Lord for your tender caring spirit which I'm sure is the way you treat all your patients. How lucky for me and them! You have a tender heart and I know God is using you in many ways to encourage the patients you care for each day. Enjoy the cinnamon rolls."
Rihanne is a hard worker, team player, fun to work with. She is outgoing with a positive attitude. She always looks out for her patients. As the patient said, she is very special. Ironically, the patient brought her some freshly baked cinnamon rolls she made herself.
