My 13-year-old daughter, M, had a recent appointment, and Renae was her nurse. My daughter was due for a vaccine and has always had a severe fear of needles. Vaccines have always been incredibly difficult and traumatic for her, and she was in tears and crying about having to receive one. Nurse Renae was amazing with her! Renae spent over an hour caring for M and trying to make her as calm as possible. She made so many accommodations to make the whole experience more comfortable: she agreed to administer the vaccine in M's leg rather than her arm, brought her ice packs to attempt to numb her leg, gave her a bottle of water, a pillow to hug, and even replaced the regular needle with a smaller one!

Renae calmly and patiently coached M through the entire process, pausing whenever M said, "I'm not ready!" Eventually, the vaccine was administered, and Renae cheered for M, saying, "You did it!" I can't say enough how much I appreciate Renae going above and beyond for M. She made what could have been a very traumatic experience a positive one, and I'm hopeful that the next time, M will be less nervous. Thank you so much, Renae!
