She puts so much of her time and effort into mentoring new grad nurses, seasoned nurses, and nursing leaders in completing their evidence-based best-practice projects and ideas.
Renae is the definition of an unsung hero. She puts so much of her time and effort into mentoring new grad nurses, seasoned nurses, and nursing leaders in completing their evidence-based best-practice projects and ideas. For anyone without prior knowledge or experience with EBP, she meets with them regularly to guide them through identifying and engaging with stakeholders, data collection, implementation steps, post-implementation data collection, and, finally, dissemination at both the local and national levels. For that knowledge, she regularly follows up with them to offer her resources and services. In addition, she developed an EBP Fellowship program as a professional development opportunity for nurses, regularly scheduled literature review courses for anyone interested in learning more about the process, and elevated the EBP Expert Council to its advisor role. I don't think there is a way to quantify how many nurses she has inspired and impacted, the amount of money she has saved the organization and patients, and there is definitely no way to quantify the number of patients' and clinicians' lives she has impacted from inspiring and helping to complete evidence-based best practice projects. Renae is truly deserving of the Nurse Leader DAISY Award. Thank you!
