I came into this hospital with what I thought was a fairly benign issue but turned into the scariest experience of my life and a month-long hospital stay. There were many times I felt like giving up, many times where I thought I would die, and so, so many tears. She would grab my hand, look me in the eye, and tell me that I was NOT going to die and that we were going to get through this together. Rebecca got me through the roughest nights. Her overwhelming compassion is what got me through the toughest moments of my life. I lit up every time she walked through the door because I knew I was going to be cared for as if I were her own family. She never missed a single symptom (ones other nurses overlooked) and was always the first to call my doctor if she suspected something was wrong (and it often was). Her competence and compassion are truly unmatched. The world of healthcare would be a very different place if every nurse were like Rebecca. She deserves all the accolades and appreciation in the world, and I am so grateful to have been lucky enough to be her patient.
