Rebecca Bridges, RN, BSN
Rebecca was so outstanding to my daughter. My daughter was 15 weeks pregnant with a little girl, her very 1st child. Her baby was diagnosed with anencephaly, which is 100% fatal. The baby couldn't survive this world.
Rebecca was there through every step of the way. She explained in detail everything that was happening. If my daughter had questions, she answered them fully and knowledgeably. Rebecca went into great detail so my daughter and I knew what to expect. She allowed my daughter to cry, she allowed my daughter to feel everything that was happening to her body, and explained everything.
I love Rebecca Bridges for having so much compassion, so much thoughtfulness. She made my daughter two bears that had the exact same weight as the baby. Rebecca made little bracelets that said her name. She let us pick out little blankets to hold the baby in. One purple, my daughter's favorite color, and one yellow and purple. Rebecca made little hats to match the blankets. She took beautiful pictures of the baby and made a CD for her mother to have always.
My daughter arrived at the hospital with a baby in her belly. She left without a baby, but she also left feeling so much love. A woman whom my daughter didn't know from Adam was so patient and kind. My daughter wasn't just a patient on the floor; she was her patient, and she was protected, loved, and cared for by Rebecca.
She deserves so much more than this award. She is truly a one-of-a-kind.
