My mom was admitted with kidney failure and a host of other issues, all while on some heavy antibiotics. The combination of everything left her confused, forgetful, unable to speak, and totally terrified for a couple of days. The five of us adult children came from in-state and out-of-state to be there and help her work through everything. Rand Gallagher is a wildly competent nurse, being smart, curious, attentive, and prompt. This provided our mom and family with a lot of relief. He quickly became like part of our family, all the while giving mom the best, most compassionate care. He guided her, and us kids, through all the questions. He handled all the messiness of a sick patient with the utmost patience and sensitivity, giving my mom dignity. And he kept her laughing along with us. We were all so happy each day that Rand was floated to our room. He was a bright spot in really tough days.
