On the day I was discharged, I told you, and I will say it for the rest of my life: it wasn’t just the burn treatment that healed me, but your humanity and support that lifted me from difficulty.
This is a thank you letter to Nurse Ramadan, who stood by me every moment during the most difficult days of my life. I wrote these words remembering my first day at the hospital as a burn patient, my condition so severe that I couldn’t even lift myself from the pain.

My skin was burning, my spirit was shattered, and every minute felt like an entire day. Despite all of this, you were the first person who made me feel that I was not alone. Every time you entered my room, you calmed my fears before you eased my pain. You changed my bandages with compassion, gave me my medications, and reassured me with simple words that meant the world to me.

Caring for a burn patient is a difficult task, but your attention, patience, and respectful manner were above all expectations. I saw in you a brother before a nurse, and a human before a professional. You came to me before I even asked, adjusting my position and telling me, “Be patient… better days are coming, God willing.” And as the days passed, I truly did get better. My body began to heal, the pain lessened, and I found relief from the suffering I had endured.

The first time I could sit up without help, I felt like I regained part of myself. On the day I was discharged, I told you, and I will say it for the rest of my life: it wasn’t just the burn treatment that healed me, but your humanity and support that lifted me from difficulty. May God reward you and grant you blessings for every moment you helped me.

Thank you, and much appreciation from someone who will never forget your kindness.
