While I was in labor, I had several amazing and professional nurses on rotation to assist me. However, one of the nurses stood out, as she happened to be the last nurse to assist me right before I delivered my healthy baby and right before her shift ended. Nurse Rachhya was more than just a nurse. She displayed empathy and compassion, reassuring me that my experiences may be new, but I was not alone. She immediately noticed that I was struggling with nausea, so she offered me different positions to ease my comfort while I was unable to maneuver with an epidural. She continued to check in with me throughout my labor. I felt like I was trusted in her care.

While I was in active labor, Nurse Rachhya provided low risk interventions and asked a team of trusted nurses to support my movement. Nurse Rachhya was consistently checking in with me to change positions to help me to deliver. Before the birth of my baby, Nurse Rachhya continued to try low risk interventions to change my movement until I was able to deliver my healthy baby in one hour and 20 mins with minimal complications. I truly applaud her dedication and the team of nurses that night who helped me deliver. I am so grateful that we chose San Jose Kaiser. The extraordinary care that I received as a first-time mom will be unmatched anywhere else!
