Quinn McDermott demonstrated exceptional clinical judgment and took quick action in identifying neurological changes her patient experienced during an acute embolic stroke at the beginning of her shift. Quinn was able to use her skills to recognize the critical signs of her patient's neurological changes and immediately initiate the appropriate actions without delay. Because of Quinn's expertise, vigilance, and swift response, the patient was promptly transferred to a higher level of care in our hospital and soon after transferred to University Hospital to receive the necessary care. Quinn's actions not only demonstrated clinical expertise but also likely contributed to a significantly improved outcome for this patient.
