I would like to commend Qona Woods because she exemplifies what extraordinary nursing care looks like. From the moment we met her, Qona was the first person who made us feel seen, informed, and supported. I understand that healthcare professionals work under immense pressure and long hours. Qona arrived with her very best self every single time she entered the room. She was knowledgeable, informative, compassionate, and genuinely pleasant while expertly carrying out all of her nursing responsibilities. She took the time to explain what was happening, answered our questions with patience, and never made us feel like we were an interruption.

During one of the most frightening experiences of our lives, she brought a sense of calm and confidence that we desperately needed. What stood out most was that her care didn’t end when my husband was transferred to the Cardiovascular ICU. Qona followed up on him after the transfer and checked in on me as well. That warm handoff meant everything. It demonstrated that she wasn’t simply completing a shift—she truly cared about the continuity of his care and about how our family was coping.

Qona’s experience shines through in the way she understands that a heart attack doesn’t happen to just one person—it affects an entire family. She treated us as a unit, recognizing that informed and supported family members are part of the healing process. Her patient-first, family-centered approach gave us comfort during one of the most uncertain times of our lives. There are nurses who provide excellent clinical care, and then there are nurses like Qona, whose compassion, empathy, professionalism, and dedication leave a permanent impression. We will never forget the kindness she showed us when we needed it most.

Thank you, Qona, for reminding us that exceptional nursing is not only about clinical skill, but also about humanity. You made an unbearable experience more manageable, and our family is deeply grateful.

Thank you, Qona, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
