Priscilla is an inspiration to patients and a shining beacon to her profession. She’s an all-time top nurse, in our opinion.
Our mother was admitted to the ER and later that afternoon to Med/Surg and then to the ICU that evening. All we can say is that we were concerned about Mom being diagnosed with the flu, respiratory issues, and pneumonia. We were a little far from our Ridgefield home and now had an extended stay in Port Angeles. This is where Priscilla’s kind heart and gentle hands put us at peace and eased our concerns with her exceptional care.

As soon as Priscilla introduced herself to us, we knew Mom was in great hands. She put all her contact information on the whiteboard in the room, the doctor’s name, and the support staff. She explained and demonstrated equipment use in the room, down to the lighting. She set up the interpretation stand so our mom could answer all the support questions in Romanian and even asked if my wife and I needed anything. Priscilla made us feel cared for like patients, even though we were there concerned about mom.

So, you ask, what specifically did Priscilla do that justifies this honor? Everything! Her kind heart, gentle hands, compassion, and tact gave our mom back her dignity. She stopped and actively listened to every one of mom’s concerns with great care.

Secondly, she’s the energizer bunny and keeps going – changing bed sheets, mom’s gown, cleaning, wipe downs, the messy bed, moving and lifting Mom, and adjusting air flow for easier breathing.

Plus, for reading mom’s medical chart and for being well-versed with her vast prescriptions, and noticing one medication was shown as active in her chart when it was replaced in the past with a different one. That would’ve been a huge mix-up. Endless effort and taking the time each day to stop by and say good morning, that she will be back soon, and goodnight before leaving. That is world-class care.

She demonstrated that she had our mom’s best interests at heart and went out of her way each day to give mom and her other patients personal attention.

In my years of visiting hospitals, I can truly say that Priscilla is an inspiration to patients and a shining beacon to her profession. She’s an all-time top nurse, in our opinion.
