I had not had any health care for over 6 years when I finally went for help. It was then that I met Polina Rivera, NP. When she entered, that sterile room was changed and filled with her warmth and caring energy. As I spoke to her about my traumatic events, she pulled her chair closer! When I was finished speaking, I saw that her eyes had tears. This changed me forever!! I knew at that moment that someone actually cared and heard me. This would change the trajectory of my life. I knew then that I would be safe and helped. Polina Rivera worked diligently and methodically for the next couple of years, from the basic exams to finding many medical issues. Step by step, month after month, year after year, she turned my life around into a thriving, healthier way of living!! She has the ability to let her warmth and kindness show! She brought me to being a healthier individual! She saved my life! Thus, saying thank you to Polina Rivera just isn’t enough. That is why I feel Polina deserves this award.
