Phoebe was not just skilled; she was present, encouraging, steady, and compassionate through one of the most vulnerable experiences of my life.
This was my fourth baby, but my first medically necessary induction, and it was a completely different experience because of Phoebe.

From the moment my induction began, Phoebe was present in a way I had never experienced before. She spent nearly all of her time in my room with me. In my past deliveries, it often took a long time for a nurse to come check on me, but with Phoebe, I never felt alone. She was always there.

I chose a pain-medication-free birth, and when the contractions became overwhelming, and I truly felt like I couldn’t do it anymore, Phoebe was constantly encouraging me, reminding me I was capable and strong. When my husband grew tired, she stepped in and applied counter-pressure herself, never hesitating to support me physically and emotionally.

When my baby began to struggle, Phoebe was right next to me on the bed, making sure his heart rate was being monitored continuously. When the monitor wouldn’t stay in place, she held the toco to my stomach herself so my baby could be watched closely and kept safe. Her calm focus and dedication in that moment meant everything to me.

When complications arose, and my baby needed NICU care, Phoebe stayed right beside me, explaining every step of what the NICU team was doing so I wouldn’t be left scared or confused. When my husband went with our baby to the NICU, Phoebe stayed with me so I wouldn’t be alone.

As soon as my recovery time was complete, Phoebe personally took me to the NICU to meet my baby, which meant more to me than I can put into words.

Phoebe was not just skilled; she was present, encouraging, steady, and compassionate through one of the most vulnerable experiences of my life. She made a medically necessary induction feel safe, supported, and empowering.

She is exactly the kind of nurse every laboring mother hopes for, and she deserves to be recognized for the incredible care she provides.
