My mother was admitted to the hospital, having suffered a heart attack, and was diagnosed with pneumonia. Peta was the late shift nurse assigned to my mom. She continuously assessed my mom’s condition, giving a detailed explanation of the care she was providing. Peta closely monitored my mom after a medical procedure, changing her dressings frequently to control the drainage. Peta also contacted my mom's primary care provider to alert them to my mom's ever-changing condition.

Peta listened to my mom and advocated for imaging and pain medication. While these concerns were not life-threatening, the pain caused mom’s sats to fluctuate and negatively impacted her. The treatment that Peta advocated for allowed my mom to get some much-needed sleep. Peta’s genuine concern for mom gave our family a sense of hope in the midst of my mom’s health challenges. During the times we were in distress, Peta was a calming spirit, and we knew we could depend on her to take care of our mom. She is an excellent nurse who truly cares and wants to provide the best for her patients. My mom's organ began to fail, and per her wishes, intubation was not an option. Peta provided support until my mom's last breath. On the hardest day of my life, I was in the midst of a true professional medical Angel at her best.
