During the challenging weekend of January 24–26, 2026, as severe weather made travel unsafe and resources were depleted, the Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) Team, Chris (Huy) Ngo and John Daniels, rose to the occasion with unwavering commitment. In recognition of their extraordinary efforts, both Chris and John received the prestigious Daisy Award, celebrating their outstanding compassion and dedication. Despite the emergency management team running out of supplies and the warehouse lacking additional cots, Chris and John ensured staff safety and comfort by transforming location 9C155, a converted patient room, into an office space complete with a full bathroom and shower. This thoughtful adaptation allowed staff to rest securely, free from concerns about safety or comfort, even as conditions outside worsened. Throughout the hospital, Chris and John continued to provide exemplary care to our Veterans, demonstrating professionalism, compassion, and adaptability. Their eagerness to assist wherever needed, along with their positive attitude and friendly demeanor, highlight their dedication to our mission and the well-being of all those we serve.
