I nominate Nurse Penny R. for the DAISY Award in recognition of the extraordinary care, compassion, and dedication she showed to our family during one of the most important and vulnerable times of our lives, the birth of our son. From the moment we arrived in the post-birth suites, Penny stood out. She not only provided excellent clinical care, but she also brought a calm, nurturing presence. Penny took the time to answer every question we had about taking care of our son, breastfeeding, and even made me one of her special ice packs for my vaginal tear. After our son was born, there were a few unexpected complications. She advocated for our needs and comforted us with genuine empathy. Penny treated us like family, and that made all the difference during those emotional first hours of parenthood. What we remember most is the way Penny made us feel: safe, supported, and truly cared for. Her kindness and professionalism left a lasting impression on us, and we are incredibly grateful for the role she played in our birth experience. We can't think of anyone more deserving of the DAISY Award.
