I want to nominate Patti Wendt at UPMC Mercy for her exemplary nursing care during my hospital stay last week. I came in through the ER with extreme vertigo, double vision, and eye problems, and had no idea what was wrong. It was very scary, and by the time I was moved to the 8th floor, there were a lot of doctors coming in and out, and procedures I had to have. Patty was the nurse for the last two days of my four-day stay, and I can't say enough how compassionate, kind, thorough, and competent she was. She eased my fears, was gentle and helpful, and truly made a very scary situation much, much easier. I also saw her work well with the nurses and doctors on the floor, and she pitched in whenever my roommate needed something. I am very grateful for her and would like her to be recognized for her hard work and caring behavior.
