... One extraordinary nurse stands out. Her name is Patricia Jennings. We call her Tricia. No tasks are too small or large for her. She does everything with love and compassion. I remember one day she was the assigned nurse for a frail 80 year-old man diagnosed with GI bleed and had constant diarrhea. Tricia cared for him with love. She cleaned him and never complained that she was tired. Her thoughts were always about caring for the elderly patient quickly to ensure he didn't tire. She ensured his comfort at all times. At the end of the shift the patient had a big smile on his face and said to her "thank you for being my angel for the day". She smiled and said to him "I was just doing my job".

When Tricia is in charge, everything runs smoothly. She helps all the nurses and will cover lunch breaks if the RN responsible for covering is unable to. When there is a one to one on the floor with no coverage for the nursing assistant to take a break, Tricia relieves the nursing assistant for a 15 minute break and a lunch break. She deserves to be recognized and appreciated for all her hard work on 5S."
