Patricia is a faculty member at the UNM College of Nursing with more than 25 years of experience in women’s health, labor and delivery, and community care. A proud New Mexico native, she is known for creating inclusive, psychologically safe learning environments that empower future nurses to provide equitable, culturally responsive care.

Her students and colleagues describe her as warm, principled, and deeply committed to the growth of her students. Through her mentorship, she models professionalism and collaboration, encouraging open dialogues and shared learning among students. Her love for the profession inspires others and reaffirms how rewarding the profession can be.
