I have only worked with Parker a handful of times. Every time I work with her, she is consistently putting her patients and coworkers before herself. She always has a positive, kind, loving, and supportive attitude. She has such a strong work ethic and is a fun, genuine, and thoughtful person and nurse.

When I used to float between floors, she was always there for me and checked in on me each time I was working on CA10. I ask so many questions, and she is always happy to help and teach me.

I have a few instances where she has gone above and beyond:

• It was the wedding anniversary of a patient and his wife. She brought in food and set up a lovely table with decorations to celebrate them on her day off.

• Another time, a patient did not have a phone charger with them and asked me for one. I texted the group to see if anyone had a charger. She called me and said she had multiple chargers in her locker. I told her I would put it back once the patient’s phone was done charging, and she said, “No, I buy them for this reason so he can keep it, it’s his now.”

• Another time, we had a patient who was pregnant on the unit. Her creative and thoughtful heart and mind led her to buy baby books for all the staff to sign for this patient.

• Lastly, I had my first code blue during shift change, which is time-consuming and an emotional experience. She automatically started passing medications to both of my other patients without skipping a beat. This meant so much to me, and I cannot express how incredibly thoughtful and selfless she was in that moment.

I love seeing her interact with patients. She is so fun and sweet, and all patients express how much they adore her. Her beautiful self and soul change so many lives in so many positive ways. I pray she knows what a difference she makes.
